Middle School Inline Hockey
The AARHO is one of the best middle school leagues in the southeast. The league is made up of
public and private middle schools across the metro area. The league offers middle school
students, both boys and girls (teams are co-ed), an opportunity to represent their school in
a highly competative level.
This is a much higher caliber of play when compared to "Rec Leagues" or "Rec Travel"
teams. Players are not guaranteed equal playing time. In the competitive middle school
environment, players must learn how to adjust to a faster, more physical, 4 v 4 game.
They must also learn how to keep themselves motivated and ready to play during the very
long tournament days. In addition, in the competitive environment players have to
understand that teamwork and cooperation on the rink is more important than individual
talent alone. Many players have to adjust to being a very good player amongst many
equally talented individuals.
Unlike recreational teams, players must try out in order to play. Try outs dates for each program
vary but they usually take place in August or Septemeber. The season begins around October each
year and runs until February. At the end of the regular season is the end of season tournament.
Not every school organizes a team each year. If you are interested in playing for your school for this
coming year please fill out the form below. If your school does not have a team we will work to develop
a program to create one.
