Youth Recreational Inline Hockey Program
Inline Hockey is a fast and exciting game played in a similar fashion to Ice Hockey
with a few key differences. The main one is that Inline Hockey is played on inline
skates on tiled floors specifically made for hockey.
By definition Inline Hockey is non-contact, which greatly contributes to its low injury
rate and also makes for a free flowing and fast paced game. The ‘non-contact’ factor
lends itself to a different style of game to Ice Hockey with different rules and coaching
strategies to ensure the games are quick and high scoring. As well as being fun to
participate in, Inline Hockey is a great sport to watch.
Inline Hockey can be played by five year olds up to eighty year olds and is played with
4 players and a goalie on the rink per team at any one time with at least 2-4 players on the
bench involve in rotation with the on floor players every 1-2 minute or so in shifts. Inline
Hockey is one of the only true youth team sports becuase, everyone really does get to play. No
chasing butterflies or standing on the sidelines waiting for their turn.
Any one can play -- boys or girls!
In most youth leagues, the players are grouped by age.
